Huron County T.R.I.A.D. Oct. 2 meeting notes

BAD AXE - Folks at the Huron County T.R.I.A.D. Oct. 2 meeting heard about Huron Central Dispatch works, according to unapproved meeting minutes.

T.R.I.A.D. Co-President Huron County Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson introduced 9-1-1 Huron Central Dispatch Director Randy Miller, who also serves as the Huron County Emergency Services Coordinator and the Chief of the Kinde Police Department. Miller has served in the U.S. Army and has also worked for the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.

Besides Miller explaining how Huron Central Dispatch works a tour was given and dispatchers also explained what they do as dispatchers. Dispatchers are state-certified and do continuing education, it was noted.

Also present at the meeting were: Co-President Mary Musich (Hume Twp.); Don McKimmy (Bad Axe); Carla McKimmy (Bad Axe); Kelly Gainor (Harbor Beach), Eileen Bottini (Port Hope); and T.R.I.A.D. Secretary/ Treasurer Janice Pulaskey (HCSO); as well as Mitzie Koroleski from the Huron County Health Department.

The meeting as called to order at 3 p.m. by Co-President Hanson. The members recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The motion made to accept the minutes from the August meeting by Eileen Bottini with support from Co-President Mary Musich carried.

Sec./Treas. Pulaskey gave the treasurer’s report and a motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report by Carla McKimmy with support from Eileen Bottini.

Koroleski said that with the flu season among us that flu shots were available and were scheduled to be given at the senior sites in October.

Current events were discussed.

The motion to adjourn by Co-President Musich with support from Eileen Bottini passed and the meeting was adjourned by Co-President Hanson at 4:13 p.m.

The next TRIAD meeting will be Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. They are scheduled for every other month on the 1st Monday of the month.
